I draw, I paint, I sculp. I create, I modify, I destroy. But something is born in all the cases.

These are the words of amazingly talented and twisted artist Mari Kasurienen.  You may or may not have seen her off-beat My Little Pony adaptations, if you haven’t though I highly suggest you check them out.  I would have killed for these when I was a kid.  Who am I kidding?  I would kill for them now.

If only this game could exist in real life…If only.

This was by Lysol Jones by the by.

Right now I am in love with the work of Rosemary Travale, her stuff has a certain child-like charm that really appeals.  That and anybody that can use watercolors better than I can (see: Almost Everyone), is alright in my book.  Check out her Deviant Art, where she has been posting a Villain a Day for the month of October.  Some of her picks have been on the brilliant side, and I have been checking back often to see who else is on the list.  It is fun to see some of the people she cutesied up (See: Skeletor Below).

I just got done reading Pure Trance by Junko Mizuno.  It is out of print but the guys at my local comic shop were nice enough to let my buy their personal copy.  Yay for supporting local business!  I read the lengthy piece in one sitting and I have to say.  I really liked it.  It is effed up beyond all belief, but it was super cute, clever and moving.  There is something nonsensical about the Mizuno mangas I’ve read that I find very charming.  If you are into the cute and macabre, I would definitely suggest trying to track down a copy.

Junko Mizuno is a manga artist from Japan, who mixes the macabre and the cute to create her own unique style.  She has done Pure Trance, Hansel and Gretel as well as Cinderella (all out of print unfortunately).

Recently Marvel Editor C.B. Cebulski posted two Spiderman images (by Mizuno) on his Website, saying he could only give a sneak preview to what seemed like one of his favorite projects.

Personally I am stoked.  I love it when Marvel and DC step out of their comfort zones with their core characters to come up with something truly Inspired (Or maybe just crazy ass crazy).  Either way, when this bad boy comes out, it will be mine.

I found this adroable revamp (no pun intended) of Vamperalla on Project: Rooftop and have ever since worshiped Maris Wicks fabulous dots for eyes asthetic.  Check out her blog, read it and then whine that she needs to update more often.

Walleyed!

I don’t even know if A Date with Death is what this fabulous mini-comic by Natasha Allegri is called (though it seems good to me), but I thought I would share the comic with you all (the first few pages anyways).  The art is so simple and cute, plus you actually feel for the characters in this 12 pager.  You can find the rest on her livejournal if you enjoyed. Be sure to give her well deserved kudos as well.

Leslie Levings is the soul female of the group at TheAtrox.com, a blog that has tons of super cute and funny comics (kitty faced kitty!).  My favorite thing that Leslie produces is a line of orignial sculptures called, “Beastlies”.  They are adorable and strongly reminisent of the utter cuteness and mild morbitity of the classic children’s book Where the Wild Things Are.  I own a couple so far, both bought from conventions.  If you would like one of your own check out Leslie’s etsy.  Right now there are just T-Shirts, but keep an eye out, she is always creating new critters to sell.

When this stunning piece done by Nina Matsumoto hit the scene it caused quite a stir on the Internet.  I thought I would dig it up and show it to you all in case you missed it’s gloriousness.  Also, recently Nina got to work for Bongo (The Simpsons comics company) comics recently, for their Treehouse of Terror Issue.  She did a paraody of Death Note, the page I saw looks spectacular.  Find it, buy it, read it, be happy. Also below check out her version of Futurama.

Need a fun customizable avatar for your forum?  Face your Manga has tons of fun options.  You can actually get these little guys to be pretty recognizable which is always impressive when you just have a few sets of features to select from.  Plus the Japaneseness of it is hella cute.

Unfortunately they have no Unicorn faces to choose from.  What can you do?
